Seven Red and White Precision Bridges Stand Firm in Pekanbaru, Riau
Riau Regional Police (Polda Riau) and their subordinate resort forces have completed the construction of 110 Red and White Precision bridges across all cities and regencies in the Land of Lancang Kuning. Seven of these bridges now stand firmly in the city of Pekanbaru.
The seven bridges form part of the 80 Red and White Precision bridges programme completed by Polda Riau in its second phase. The bridges were inaugurated by the National Police Chief (Kapolri), General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, on Wednesday, 8 July.
The seven bridges are located on Jalan Kapau Sari IX, Jalan Daru-daru VII, Jalan Semangka, Jalan Semar, Jalan Harapan Utama, Jalan M Taher, and Jalan Puspa Sari. All seven now stand solidly, built with concrete materials.
At the inauguration ceremony, held in South Dumai District, Dumai City, General Sigit commended the Riau Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Herry Heryawan, and his staff for the successful construction of the bridges. The Kapolri said the bridge construction was a follow-up to President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to realise connectivity for citizens, as well as a demonstration of the National Police’s care for the community.
In his address, Inspector General Herry Heryawan presented the 80 Red and White Precision bridges to the public as a special gift marking the 80th Bhayangkara Day.
“The eighty Red and White Precision bridges that stand today across the province of Riau represent a collective effort to strengthen social connectedness, broaden community access to public services, and open up spaces for more evenly distributed economic growth,” said Inspector General Herry Heryawan.
Referring to various academic studies, Herry Heryawan stated that a region’s progress is greatly determined by the quality of its connectivity, the level of social trust, and the community’s ability to build collective cooperation. Infrastructure serves as the foundation that enables all these elements to grow sustainably.
“On that basis, the policy of President Prabowo Subianto, implemented by the Kapolri, has given us a highly valuable perspective,” said the general, a graduate of the 1996 Police Academy class.
According to the Regional Police Chief, the Kapolri’s efforts have positioned the National Police as an institution present amid the social dynamics of society, strengthening social cohesion, building social capital, and delivering solutions to the various problems faced by communities.
“And on behalf of the extended family of Polda Riau, allow us to say that we are deeply proud of the General’s dedication in leading and providing us with guidance,” he said.
