Pekanbaru - Seven prospective Hajj pilgrims from Pekanbaru City, Riau Province, have experienced departure delays, consisting of four individuals who are ill and currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Batam, Riau Islands, along with three JCH companions.

“The pilgrims whose departures have been postponed will be sent on the subsequent kloter, adjusted to the availability of seats on the aircraft,” stated the Head of the Riau Provincial Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Defizon, in Pekanbaru on Monday.

Defizon conveyed that as of Sunday (26/4), a total of 883 JCH and staff from two flying groups (kloter) originating from Riau Province have been dispatched to Amir Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz International Airport, Madinah, Saudi Arabia.

The condition of the Hajj pilgrims already in Madinah is reported to be healthy. While in Madinah, the pilgrims from kloter BTH 03 and BTH 04 will perform Arbain worship and visit several historical sites.

“The two kloters that have been dispatched are BTH 03 with 443 pilgrims and staff, and BTH 04 with 440 pilgrims and staff,” Defizon said.

Meanwhile, the prospective Hajj pilgrims from kloter BTH 05 are currently at the Batam Hajj Hostel. This kloter consists of 438 pilgrims from Kampar Regency, 2 from Siak Regency, and 1 from KBIHU. Additionally, this kloter is accompanied by 2 PHD and 4 kloter staff.

He explained that the Riau Provincial Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is ensuring that the entire embarkation process for the pilgrims runs smoothly and continues to monitor the condition of the pilgrims, including those experiencing departure delays.
