Seven Padang Pilgrims Still Hospitalised in Saudi Arabia
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) for West Sumatra (Sumbar) has reported that seven Hajj pilgrims from the Padang embarkation point are still receiving intensive medical treatment in Saudi Arabia. “We pray that all the pilgrims currently being treated are granted a swift recovery and can return to their families in the homeland,” said M. Rifki, Head of the West Sumatra Regional Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, on Sunday (21/6/2026). According to data from the Integrated Hajj Information and Computerisation System (Siskohat), the seven pilgrims undergoing treatment are Busnar Jamaran, Syafei Nawaar, and Usdarti Abu Nawas from Padang City; Emma Yuliati and Stafruddin Sutan Badarun from Padang Panjang City; Syaifuddin Wirdas Tompek from West Pasaman Regency; and Jasri Abu Nawas from Limapuluh Kota Regency. Rifki stated that these pilgrims will be flown or repatriated to Indonesia once they are declared healthy and meet the requirements to travel. Additionally, the ministry recorded that as of 20 June 2026, ten pilgrims from the Padang embarkation point had passed away in the Holy Land.
