Seven Names Pass Administrative Selection for Yogyakarta City Regional Secretary Candidates, Here is the List

Seven internal officials from the Yogyakarta City Government are in the running for the position of Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Yogyakarta City. They have also been declared to have passed the administrative selection for Sekda candidates in Yogyakarta City. Here is the list of those seven names.

It is known that the position of Sekda of Yogyakarta City has been vacant since Aman Yuriadijaya retired at the beginning of 2026. Dedi Budiono, Assistant for General Administration of the Yogyakarta City Regional Secretariat (Setda), was then appointed as Acting (Pj) to carry out the duties of Sekda of Yogyakarta City until a new Sekda is officially appointed.

The Yogyakarta City Government (Pemkot Jogja) formed a Selection Committee (Pansel) and announced the open selection for the high-ranking leadership position of Sekda of Yogyakarta City on 26 March 2026. This was followed by online registration and submission of documents until 9 April 2026.

The administrative selection was then conducted on 10 April 2026, with the results announced on 14 April 2026 through the official website of the Yogyakarta City Personnel and Human Resource Development Agency (BKPSDM).

Based on the announcement contained in Letter No: 03/PANSEL/IV/YK/2026, there were eight registrants who entered the selection. However, one candidate was declared to have failed the administrative selection, and the other seven candidates were declared to have passed to proceed to the next stage.

The seven names are: Head of the Yogyakarta City Transportation Agency Agus Arif Nugroho, Head of the Yogyakarta City Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) Agus Tri Haryono, Head of the Yogyakarta City Education, Youth and Sports Agency (Disdikpora) Budi Santosa Asrori, and Head of the Yogyakarta City Communication, Informatics and Public Relations Agency (Diskominfosan) Ignatius Trihastono.

Next is Head of the Yogyakarta City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) Octo Noor Arafat, then Staff Advisor for the Field of Economy and City Development of Yogyakarta City Patricia Heny Dian Anitasari, and finally Head of the Yogyakarta City Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) Raden Roro Andarini.

The one candidate who was declared unsuccessful is Taufik Jatmiko, who serves as Head of the Minutes Section of the Information System and Documentation Bureau of the Secretariat General of the House of Representatives (DPR RI). Taufik’s failure was due to age restrictions.

“The seven who passed happen to be from internal Pemkot, the one who did not pass was due to age exceeding the maximum limit,” explained the Head of BKPSDM Yogyakarta City, Sarwanto, when met by detikJogja while attending an event in Yogyakarta City on Wednesday (15/4/2026).

“The one who did not pass happens to be from the administrator level, meaning echelon 3, and echelon 3 has a maximum age of 56 years, but he was over 56 years old at the time of registration, so according to the provisions, he has exceeded it,” he continued.

Sarwanto explained that the entire selection process was carried out by the Pansel Team. The Pansel Team is chaired by the DIY Provincial Secretary, and includes the DIY Regional Inspector, as well as academics from Gadjah Mada University (UGM) and Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY).

“It is they who determine the theme (test), they who formulate it,” said Sarwanto.

The candidates who have passed the administrative selection will then undergo Managerial and Sociocultural Competency Selection on 21 to 22 April 2026.

“Simply put, it’s like an assessment, it will be at the BKPSDM assessment centre unit,” explained Sarwanto.

This will be followed by the Written Idea Test or paper preparation on 23 April 2026, Oral Idea Test or presentation and interview on 28 April 2026, and the announcement of the selection results determination on 5 May 2026.

“The paper is on the spot, so the theme will be known when they are at the test location, not determined beforehand. They are given 3 hours, and the laptops provided by the committee are not connected to the internet,” he said.

“From the seven, it will be narrowed down to three candidates, after that reported by Pansel to the Mayor, from the three, he (the Mayor) will choose,” concluded Sarwanto.
