Seven Monitoring Posts Established in East Ciputat, Targeting Zero Brawls During Ramadan
South Tangerang — East Ciputat Police have moved swiftly to anticipate potential brawls and street crime during the holy month of Ramadan. Seven monitoring posts have been established at various vulnerable locations to maintain a conducive security environment.
The monitoring posts were set up on Wednesday, 18 February 2026 at approximately 5.20pm local time. The measure represents an intensive surveillance effort to prevent disruptions to public security and order (kamtibmas) across the Ciputat and East Ciputat areas.
East Ciputat Police Chief, Commissioner Bambang Askar Sodiq, affirmed his commitment to maintaining security throughout the fasting month.
“We are prepared for a full month to protect residents so they can observe Ramadan with devotion. Protect the people, protect the environment, uphold the rules, and guard the trust for the Republic of Indonesia,” he said on Thursday, 19 February 2026.
He also set a target for the Ciputat and East Ciputat areas to be entirely free from brawls. This initiative was described as the result of a joint agreement among local Muspika (sub-district coordination forum) elements.
“Zero brawls in the Ciputat and East Ciputat areas, in accordance with the agreement reached with the Sub-district Head and Military District Commander. We have established monitoring posts at seven locations to prevent public order disturbances caused by youth brawls, street racing, provocative sahur on the road activities that trigger fights, drag racing, and sarong battles,” he said.
Police confirmed that the establishment of the monitoring posts proceeded safely, in an orderly fashion, and without incident. With a full month of surveillance in place, it is hoped that the public will be able to observe Ramadan with a sense of safety and comfort.
The seven monitoring post locations are:
- Jombang sub-district
- Sawah Lama sub-district
- Rempoa sub-district
- Cipayung sub-district
- Pisangan sub-district
