Seven Merah Putih Bridges in Kuansing Officially Operational, Symbolising Unity
The completion of seven bridges in the Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) region of Riau has brought joy to residents. The Merah Putih Presisi bridges have become a symbol of progress and renewed unity for the villagers.
The seven bridges were inaugurated simultaneously by National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and Riau Police Chief Inspector General Herry Heryawan on Wednesday (8/7/2026). The Kuansing Police participated in the inauguration virtually, which was centred in Muara Jaya Kopah Village, Kuantan Tengah District.
In his speech, Riau Police Chief Inspector General Herry Heryawan emphasised that the construction of a total of 80 Merah Putih Presisi bridges in the second phase across Riau Province was a direct order from President Prabowo Subianto, implemented by the National Police Chief.
“The eighty Merah Putih Presisi bridges standing today across various corners of Riau Province represent a collective effort to strengthen social connectivity, expand access to public services, and open up more equitable economic growth opportunities. This is an 80th Bhayangkara Day anniversary gift for Riau Province,” said Inspector General Herry Heryawan.
Responding to this achievement, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo expressed high appreciation to all police precincts for their hard work. He expressed hope that the new infrastructure would ease residents’ daily mobility, accelerate access to healthcare and education, and boost the regional economy.
The presence of the new bridges was welcomed with deep gratitude by the local government and the community of Kenegerian Kopah. The Acting Regional Secretary of Kuansing Regency, Muradi, representing the Acting Regent of Kuansing, conveyed profound thanks to the President and the National Police Chief.
“Hopefully, with these bridges, the economy and quality of life for surrounding residents will improve, and they will open better access for the progress of this region. It is hoped that these Merah Putih Presisi Bridges can become a symbol of progress and unity for future generations,” said Muradi.
Concluding his remarks, Muradi invited the community to jointly maintain and care for the bridges so they remain sturdy and beneficial for the public, particularly for Jaya Kopah Village, Kuantan Tengah District.
Meanwhile, Kuansing Deputy Police Chief Commissioner Nardy Masry expressed appreciation to all members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum for their support and collaboration, which enabled the seven Merah Putih Presisi Bridges to become operational.
“The hope is that these bridges will benefit the community and function well. These Merah Putih Presisi Bridges are the result of our collective cooperation. We extend our thanks for the synergy between the Kuansing Regency local government and the community of Kuantan Tengah District,” said Nardy.
