Seven Hajj pilgrims from Bengkulu depart to replace those who cancelled
Bengkulu (ANTARA) - Seven prospective Hajj pilgrims from Bengkulu Province have been dispatched from the Bengkulu Hajj Dormitory to fill the vacant quota resulting from prospective pilgrims who passed away, fell ill, or cancelled their departure. “These seven individuals are the next in line to replace those who passed away, fell ill, and cancelled their trips,” said Kurniawan Arianto Abdul Gani, the Person in Charge of the Hajj Health Programme at the Bengkulu Provincial Health Office, in Bengkulu on Thursday. The seven prospective pilgrims consist of four from Rejang Lebong Regency and three from Kepahiang Regency. They will join the PDG-14 Cluster at the Padang Embarkation in West Sumatra. The seven prospective pilgrims are scheduled to enter the Padang Hajj Dormitory on 8 May 2026 before being sent to the Holy Land. “The Hajj pilgrim quota for Bengkulu Province in 2026 is 100 per cent fulfilled, with no open seats,” he added. In addition to the dispatch process for replacement pilgrims, health services for Bengkulu Hajj pilgrims are continuously provided by cluster Hajj health personnel for 24 hours in Saudi Arabia. Currently, the total number of prospective Hajj pilgrims from Bengkulu Province in Saudi Arabia reaches 1,337 people. As many as 170 are still in Madinah, and 1,166 others are in Makkah to perform the obligatory Umrah.
