Seven flights from Soekarno-Hatta Airport to the Middle East cancelled due to airspace closure
Seven flights from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta) bound for various Middle Eastern cities were cancelled on Sunday, 1 March 2026, following the closure of airspace across several countries in the region.
“In connection with airspace closures in several Middle Eastern regions, there are a number of Middle East route flights that have experienced cancellations,” said Aziz Fahmi Harahap, Acting Deputy Assistant for Communications and Legal Affairs at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, in a written statement on Sunday.
The cancelled departing flights were:
Etihad Airways EY472 to Abu Dhabi
Qatar Airways QR954 to Doha
Qatar Airways QR957 to Doha
Emirates EK357 to Dubai
Etihad Airways EY475 to Abu Dhabi
Garuda Indonesia GA900 to Doha
Etihad Airways EY473 to Abu Dhabi
In addition to departing flights, two incoming flights were also cancelled: Etihad Airways EY472 from Abu Dhabi to Jakarta and Qatar Airways QR954 from Doha to Jakarta.
Aziz confirmed that affected passengers have been handled in accordance with applicable procedures, including cancellation of travel documents in the immigration area and coordination with the respective airlines regarding accommodation arrangements and flight rescheduling.
“We urge prospective passengers travelling to Middle East routes to actively monitor flight information developments through the official channels of their respective airlines,” he said.
Aside from monitoring official airline channels, prospective passengers are also advised to contact the customer service of their respective airlines to obtain the latest information regarding flight status.
