Seven escape from jail

BANDAR LAMPUNG, Lampung: Seven of the eight inmates who
escaped from prison were still at large and believed to be
roaming in the dense forest in the area, Antara reported
yesterday.

Prison guards caught one of the escapees as soon as they were
alerted of the jailbreak which took place in the early hours of
last Friday, the report said, adding that the fugitives were
serving two to three-year prison terms for various criminal
offenses.

The seven who got away are Bambang Supriyanto, Supri, Karman,
Ibrahim, Sudirosi, Irfan, and Rajudin.

A prison official said the escapees cut the prison bars with a
saw which they may have stolen from the prison warehouse.(03)
