Seven die in truck accident

DEMAK, Central Java: Seven people died and two were injured when the truck carrying them plunged into a river here Sunday, a report said yesterday.

The truck, carrying about 50 people, went out of control while going down hill and then skidded into the muddy river.

The people had been traveling from Demak to the neighboring town of Purwodadi to attend prayers at an Islamic boarding school, Antara reported.

The accident happened in a village about one kilometer from Demak. The victims were aged between 10 and 22. (pan)
