Seven die in accidents

SEMARANG (JP): Seven people died and four others were injured in two road accidents here and Kebumen over the weekend, police and eyewitnesses said.

The first accident occurred on Jl. Kaligawe, Semarang, when a speeding bus rammed into an empty oi} drum covering a pot hole, skidded and crashed into an oncoming van.

Five people, including the van's driver, were killed and four injured in the accident, eyewitnesses said.

Another road accident in Kebumen claimed two lives. Muhasin, 40, and Soni, 40, died when their Kijang van hit a bus.

The accident occurred when the van tried to overtake another car and hit the oncoming bus. (har/05)
