Seven Dead and Six Rescued in Bantargebang Waste Landfill Collapse
BEKASI — A total of 13 victims have been identified following the collapse of a waste mound at the Bantargebang Waste Processing and Final Disposal Site (TPST) in Bekasi. Seven victims died and six others survived.
The final victim found dead buried beneath waste was Riki Supiadi (40). He was evacuated on Monday, 9 March 2026 at approximately 23:30 WIB.
“With the discovery of all victims and no reports of missing persons, the search and rescue operation has been declared closed,” stated Desiana Kartika Bahari, Head of Jakarta Search and Rescue Office, in a written statement on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.
Victim data was obtained from field personnel reports, witness testimonies, and accounts from victims’ families.
