Seven artists named as DKJ caretakers

JAKARTA: The Jakarta Academy (AJ) named on Monday seven
artists as interim caretakers of the Jakarta Arts Council (DKJ)
after its previous members ended their terms on Aug. 31.

"The caretakers are tasked with continuing DKJ's programs
before new DKJ members are elected," said Ratna Riantiarno, one
of the caretaker members.

In addition to Ratna, the other six are Aspar Paturusi, Otto
Sidharta, Hamsad Rangkuti, SM Ardan, Wiwiek Sipala and Syahnagra
Ismail.

Wiwiek Sipala, a dancer, said the new DKJ members would be
named within a week at the latest. --Antara
