Seven Airbases Drive TNI AU Cooperation with West Java

The Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force, Air Marshal Mohamad Tonny Harjono, and the Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi, have signed a cooperation agreement to support the acceleration of development in West Java.

In an official press release issued in Jakarta on Friday, Tonny stated that the TNI AU possesses resources that can be synergised with the programmes and priorities of the local government to support West Java’s development.

“Because of this, we deemed it necessary to come here to establish cooperation in supporting the development of West Java. The Air Force has resources, while the local government has programmes and priorities that must be implemented. If all these potentials are united, it will certainly become a collective strength to build West Java,” said Tonny.

The cooperation was formalised through the signing of an agreement titled “TNI AU Synergy: Manunggal Karya Bakti Dirgantara for the Acceleration of Development in West Java” in West Java on Thursday (3/9).

He noted that this strategic position is evidenced by the presence of seven TNI AU airbases within the West Java region.

Tonny expressed his appreciation for the positive response from Dedi Mulyadi and the local government officials towards the planned collaboration between the TNI AU and the West Java Provincial Government.

While he has not yet detailed the specific forms of assistance the TNI AU will provide to support various development programmes in West Java, he noted that the collaboration is expected to strengthen inter-institutional synergy and open opportunities to utilise existing potential to support regional growth.
