Settle Your Obligations: PKB and BBNKB Penalty Waiver Programme to End Soon
Taxpayers in DKI Jakarta still have the opportunity to settle their Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) and Vehicle Title Transfer Fee (BBNKB) obligations without being subject to administrative penalties. The penalty waiver programme is valid until 31 August 2026.
This policy is one of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s efforts to make it easier for the public to fulfil their regional tax obligations. In addition to easing the burden on taxpayers, the penalty waiver is expected to encourage orderly motor vehicle administration.
Through this programme, taxpayers can pay off their PKB and BBNKB obligations without having to pay administrative penalties arising from late payment.
The administrative penalty waiver for PKB and BBNKB is granted automatically. Taxpayers do not need to submit an application or complete additional documents to receive this benefit. The penalty amount will be directly removed when the taxpayer makes a payment through the available channels, provided it is still within the policy period.
This convenience gives vehicle owners the opportunity to immediately settle their tax obligations without having to go through a special application procedure.
Taxpayers should note that the PKB administrative penalty waiver only applies to annual PKB payments. The policy does not apply to the five-yearly Vehicle Registration Certificate (STNK) renewal service. Therefore, vehicle owners need to first confirm the type of service they require before making a payment.
Annual PKB payments can be made through a number of service channels, including the SIGNAL application, main Samsat offices, Samsat outlets, and other official payment channels. For people who have limited time to visit a Samsat office, the SIGNAL application can be an option for completing vehicle tax payments more practically. Payments can be made online from various locations without having to queue at a service office.
Taxpayers are urged not to delay payment until the programme nears its end on 31 August 2026. Early payment can help the public avoid technical issues, service congestion, or other potential obstacles that may arise near the programme’s deadline.
By taking advantage of the administrative penalty waiver, taxpayers can settle arrears with a lighter burden while simultaneously regularising their motor vehicle administration. This policy is also expected to increase public compliance in fulfilling regional tax obligations. This tax revenue is one of the sources of regional income used to support governance, public services, and the development of the city of Jakarta.
Residents who still have outstanding annual PKB or BBNKB obligations can immediately utilise the administrative penalty waiver programme before it ends on 31 August 2026.
