Set for Release Next Month, iCar Ensures Attractive Price for V23
Wuhu, Kompas.com – iCar Indonesia’s Product Planning Manager, Tommy Hermansyah, has revealed that the announcement of the price for the company’s first model in the country, the V23, is scheduled for next month.
Although he could not yet disclose the price range, he assured that the boxy-styled electric SUV will arrive with an attractive and competitive price in its segment.
“We are still awaiting several factors, such as taxes and others. So the price has not been decided yet, even internally. However, iCar Indonesia is committed to providing the best offer because the V23 will be the base model,” said Tommy in Wuhu, China, on Tuesday (28/4/2026).
Tommy also confirmed that the price launch will take place soon, targeting the end of May 2026.
“Our estimate is end of May. There will be a special event for that,” he said.
For the Indonesian market, all units to be marketed will be assembled locally through manufacturing facilities owned by Chery Group’s partners, namely PT Handal Indonesia Motor (HIM) and Inchcape in Wanaherang, Bogor.
This step is targeted to achieve a domestic content level (TKDN) of up to 40%.
“All units will be assembled locally, both at Handal and Inchcape. We will adjust to the available production capacity,” Tommy explained.
As the debut model, the V23 is designed to combine off-road capabilities with daily usability comfort.
This is reflected in its proportional dimensions, with a length of 4,220 mm, width of 1,915 mm, height of 1,845 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,735 mm to support stability.
In terms of design, the V23 features a classic boxy silhouette with round retro-style front headlights combined with up to 15 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features.
The side and rear sections are reinforced with a cage-style body structure using 70% high-strength steel.
Modern touches remain present through LED lights and sharp body lines, creating a blend of classic SUV character and contemporary technology.
In terms of performance, the iCar V23 i-WD is equipped with an electric motor delivering 155 kW (equivalent to 211 PS) with 292 Nm of torque. Energy is supplied by an 81.76 kWh battery, supporting 6.6 kW AC charging as well as DC fast charging up to 104 kW.
