The Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara) continues to accelerate the transformation of state-owned enterprises (SOEs). Under the direction of Danantara COO Dony Oskaria, simplifying the corporate structure of SOEs has become a top priority through merger schemes and the formation of holding companies.
This strategic move was taken to cut through lengthy bureaucracy and create more centralised business coordination. Oskaria emphasised that the streamlining is not merely about reducing the number of entities, but rather an effort to bring SOEs with similar business lines together under one roof, thereby eliminating the overlap that hampers performance.
Through the “holdingisation” scheme, state companies are now grouped into specific clusters. This strategy enables Danantara to manage state assets more efficiently, with greater focus and professionalism akin to a global investment management institution.
Entities that previously operated independently are now having their strengths consolidated to boost competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.
The results of the restructuring and simplification are evident in the formation of major holding companies overseeing various subsidiaries across sectors.
