SESPIBANK® Batch 82 Collaborates with EDHEC Business School Paris, LPPI Sharpens Competencies...
The Indonesian Banking Development Institute (LPPI) officially commenced the SESPIBANK® Batch 82 programme at the LPPI Bumi Campus in Jakarta on Thursday (9/4/2026). This flagship programme, running since 1988, is once again designed to prepare prospective top management in banking to navigate technological disruptions and increasingly complex non-traditional risks.
LPPI’s President Director, Heru Kristiyana, in his opening remarks, emphasised that future leaders must not only be adaptive but also possess strategic foresight to read the direction of changes amid global dynamics.
“The theme ‘Leading with Strategic Foresight: Shaping Sustainable and Intelligent Business Transformation’ is raised because banking needs to transform quickly and intelligently. Leaders must be able to anticipate changes in customer behaviour to cyber risks and digital fraud,” said Heru.
LPPI’s optimism in producing new leadership cadres is supported by the solid condition of the financial services sector. Referring to data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) as of 1 April 2026, the financial sector’s stability remains maintained despite being overshadowed by high-for-longer interest rate policies in the United States and global geopolitical tensions.
Heru explained that up to February 2026, bank credit grew positively by 9.37% (year-on-year) to Rp8,559 trillion. The most significant growth occurred in Investment Credit, which surged by 20.72%.
“Public confidence also remains strong, reflected in the growth of Third-Party Funds (DPK) by 13.18% (year-on-year) to Rp10,102 trillion. With a Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) at 25.83%, Indonesian banking has a very strong buffer to face uncertainties,” he added.
Global Collaboration with EDHEC Business School
To strengthen internationally benchmarked competencies, SESPIBANK® Batch 82 participants will attend Executive Education in Paris, France, in collaboration with EDHEC Business School. The focus of this programme is Strategic Leadership for Intelligent Transformation.
“Participants will gain direct exposure to the global startup ecosystem at Station F, Paris, the world’s largest startup campus. The aim is for our senior bankers to obtain applicable insights on data-based business model innovations,” Heru explained.
Graduates of this programme will receive a Dual Certificate from LPPI and EDHEC Business School, strengthening the network of 2,062 SESPIBANK® alumni who have contributed in various strategic national positions.
With the opening of SESPIBANK® Batch 82, LPPI hopes that participants from various institutions such as Bank Mandiri, BSI, BTN, to Regional Development Banks (BPD) like Bank Nagari, Bank Sumselbabel, Bank Kalbar, and Bank Sumut, can become the driving force for sustainable national banking transformation.
