The Blora Regency Government is intensifying its fight against drugs by officially inaugurating the operations of the Integrated Service Unit for the Prevention, Eradication, Abuse, and Illicit Trafficking of Narcotics (ULT P4GN) on Friday (28/8). This launch marks the beginning of the formation process for the Blora Regency National Narcotics Agency (BNNK).

The Deputy Regent of Blora, Sri Setyorini, stated that the inauguration of the ULT P4GN, located on Jalan Tentara Pelajar, Kunden, Blora, is a significant milestone for the Regency in strengthening its commitment to protecting the community, particularly the younger generation, from the dangers of narcotics.

“The launch of ULT P4GN is not merely the inauguration of an office or service unit, but a tangible manifestation of the Blora Regency Government’s commitment to supporting efforts to prevent and eradicate the abuse and illicit trafficking of narcotics within the Blora Regency area,” said Sri.

She explained that the launch of the ULT P4GN serves as the embryo and initial step towards the establishment of the Blora BNNK, which has long been a shared ambition. The Blora Regency Government has followed up on the BNNK formation process by preparing academic papers and fulfilling various necessary administrative requirements. This process has received support and guidance from the Central Java Provincial BNN and the Indonesian National BNN.

“We hope that through increasingly strong synergy between the Blora Regency Government, the Central Java Provincial BNN, the Indonesian National BPHN, Forkopimda, relevant agencies, and all components of society, the goal of establishing the Blora BNNK can be realised soon,” Sri continued.

To support the operations of the ULT P4GN, the Blora Regency Government has provided a building along with supporting infrastructure. The ULT P4GN building is a Regency asset previously used as the official residence of the Deputy Speaker of the Blora Regency DPRD, spanning 110 square metres on a 1,530 square metre plot of land.

In addition to the building, the Blora Regency Government has also prepared office equipment, two four-wheel drive official vehicles, and three two-wheel official vehicles to support service operations and field activities. All assets, including the land, building, and infrastructure, have been provided under a use-loan scheme.

Sri Setyorini emphasised that this support demonstrates the local government’s seriousness in strengthening P4GN services in Blora Regency. With the operation of the ULT P4GN, she hopes that services to the community regarding the prevention, eradication, and handling of narcotics abuse can be carried out more optimally and effectively.

“With the presence of ULT P4GN, I am optimistic that efforts to prevent and eradicate the abuse and illicit trafficking of narcotics can run more optimally, thereby being able to save the younger generation of Blora Regency from the dangers of drugs,” said Sri.

The Deputy Regent also invited all elements of society to work together to realise a ‘BERSINAR’ (Clean from Drugs) Blora Regency as a concrete contribution towards the ‘Indonesia Emas 2045’ vision.

Following the speeches, the event proceeded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Indonesian National BNN and the Blora Regency Government, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the official commencement of the Blora Regency ULT P4GN operations.

On the same occasion, the Head of the Central Java Provincial BNN, Brigadier General Agus Rohmat, expressed his appreciation for the Blora Regency Government’s commitment. He noted that the signing of the memorandum and the inauguration of the ULT P4GN represent a shared commitment to facing the threats of narcotics abuse and illicit trafficking.

Agus expressed hope that the presence of the ULT P4GN would strengthen coordination, programme synchronisation, data and information exchange, human resource capacity building, and the implementation of various P4GN programmes in an integrated and sustainable manner.

He stated that the Central Java Provincial BNN is ready to provide full support in the areas of prevention, community empowerment, rehabilitation for users, and strengthening synergy in eradicating narcotics trafficking networks.

“Handling this cannot be done by the BNN alone; it requires collaboration from all stakeholders, including local governments, law enforcement agencies, the education sector, the business world, the media, and all layers of society,” concluded Agus.
