Services Sector Projected to Prop Up Economic Growth in 2026
The services sector, including tourism, is projected to continue supporting Indonesia’s economic growth in 2026. This projection emerges amid forecasts of rising domestic inflation due to a series of impacts from global uncertainty this year. The updated Asian Development Outlook report released by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in July 2026 maintains the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth projection at 5.2% for 2026. This figure is more optimistic than projections from other institutions such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which set a percentage of 5%, although both are below the government’s target of 5.4%.
