Servicemen involved in drug cases
SEMARANG, Central Java: The provincial chapter of the Indonesian Ulemas Association (MUI) urged the provincial government to take stiff action against public servants involved in drugs.
"The local government should punish public servants involved in drugs to prevent drug abuse from spreading in the province," Chabib Thoha, chairman of the MUI's chapter in the province, said here on Thursday.
He claimed at least 30 village heads in Wonosobo and 36 civil servants from the provincial administration were undergoing a drug addiction rehabilitation program at an Islamic boarding school in Suralaya, West Java. (har/rms)
