Service Transformation Simplifies Internet Connectivity When Travelling Abroad
Internet access has become an essential need for people travelling abroad, whether for holidays, work, or religious pilgrimages such as Umrah and Hajj. Amid increasing mobility, stable connectivity not only supports communication but also aids navigation, digital transactions, and information needs during journeys.
However, several obstacles are still frequently encountered. Relatively high roaming costs and the process of purchasing physical SIM cards in destination countries are considered impractical, especially for travellers seeking quick and efficient solutions.
One technology that is increasingly used is eSIM (embedded SIM), which allows users to activate data packages without needing to replace physical cards. This approach enables direct internet access through the device, making it more practical for cross-border travel.
Reflecting this trend, in an official statement today, JavaMifi introduces the JavaConnect app as one option for global connectivity services based on eSIM. Through this app, users can purchase and activate international data packages, with prices starting from Rp19,000 directly from their smartphones, covering networks in more than 200 countries.
In certain comparisons, using eSIM can even be up to three to four times more cost-effective than conventional roaming services. This is also driving increased interest in more flexible digital-based connectivity services.
As a provider of global WiFi services, JavaMifi has long been known for serving various overseas connectivity needs, from tourists to religious pilgrims. The introduction of this app is part of adapting services to technological developments and changes in user behaviour.
JavaMifi Co-Founder Andintya Maris stated that this service transformation is aimed at meeting the growing need for practical internet access.
“We see that users now want fast and easily accessible services, especially when abroad. Therefore, we are trying to provide simpler solutions through an app that covers more than 200 countries,” she said.
In addition to ease of access, this service is also equipped with 24-hour customer support to assist users across various time zones. From a cost perspective, eSIM is considered a more efficient alternative to conventional roaming.
Looking ahead, the use of eSIM technology is expected to continue increasing in line with the high global mobility of society. Various digital-based services are also beginning to develop to meet these needs, while providing more diverse options for Indonesian travellers.
