PAM JAYA has assured that drinking water services will continue whilst maintenance work on the Hutan Kota Water Treatment Plant (IPA) is carried out by PT Jakarta Utilitas Propertindo (JUP).

A number of mitigation measures have been prepared, ranging from free water tanker trucks and the installation of water storage tanks to compensation for affected customers.

PAM JAYA’s Operational Director, Syahrul Hasan, said the maintenance of the Hutan Kota IPA forms part of efforts to safeguard the long-term reliability of piped drinking water services.

Although the work will affect distribution in several areas, PAM JAYA has assured that the public’s water needs will still be met.

“The maintenance of the Hutan Kota IPA is an important step to safeguard the long-term reliability of piped drinking water services. During the process, we are ensuring customers continue to receive the best service through the provision of free water tankers and compensation for affected customers,” Syahrul said in a statement on Tuesday (21/7).

The company has deployed free water tanker trucks in areas experiencing distribution disruptions.

In addition, the company has placed storage tanks with capacities of 5,000 litres and 1,000 litres at various points so that the public can still access clean water during the maintenance period.

Furthermore, PAM JAYA is providing compensation to affected customers holding the Healthy Water Card (Kartu Air Sehat) in the form of a reduction on the current month’s water bill, worth a maximum of Rp50,000.

“We apologise for any inconvenience whilst the work is being carried out,” he said.
