Service Begins: Four Genera-Z Bakti Winners Start Implementing Village Programmes
The Genera-Z Berbakti 2026 programme has entered a new phase. After a series of selections, a bootcamp, and a competitive final round, the four best teams have been chosen as winners of the call for proposals programme organised by Bakti BCA. The winners will now implement their ideas directly in tourism villages fostered by Bakti BCA.
Duta Bakti BCA and Genera-Z Berbakti 2026 panellist, Nicholas Saputra, said the four winners offered solutions worth anticipating for implementation in their respective villages. “We hope the selected universities can map out the problems and offer relevant solutions in the field. Hopefully, all winners will better understand the community’s needs once they are on the ground, so they can determine priorities and refine their programmes,” Nicholas said.
Before departing for their destination villages, the Genera-Z Berbakti 2026 winners participated in a bootcamp to receive training in community needs mapping, programme planning, team building, data processing, and health, safety, and environment knowledge. One member of the UGM team, Fauzyiah, said the bootcamp was an experience that strengthened her team’s readiness before engaging directly with the community. “This bootcamp really helped us improve our skills and reminded us that as young people we must continue to learn, develop skills, and stay on track towards the goals we want to achieve,” said Fauzyiah, who is familiarly known as Uzi.
A member of the Unair team, Usamah, considered the training to have provided a new understanding of the meaning of service. “We must understand issues from the community’s perspective and build change together with them, not come as parties who feel they know everything. That is how a sustainable impact can be created,” Usamah said.
Entering the implementation stage, each team has also prepared to face various challenges awaiting them in the field. “The most important thing is to remain adaptive, resilient, and always prioritise solutions when facing challenges,” said Ghifari, a member of the Unpad team. Separately, Sarah from the UI team assessed that cohesiveness and open communication are the main foundations for the programme’s success. “When there are many ideas, the most important thing is that we can make decisions together for the success of the programme,” Sarah said.
EVP Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility BCA, Hera F. Haryn, hopes that Genera-Z Berbakti 2026 can be a platform for students to train themselves to make real contributions to society. “The selection of the Genera-Z Berbakti 2026 winners marks the start of a crucial stage of this programme, namely field service. We are confident the winners can smoothly carry out the programmes they have designed together with the community. It is hoped that this service can become an important provision for the students’ future, and for the community to become more empowered and resilient,” Hera said.
