Server Error Strikes Again, New Student Registration in Mataram Extended Until Night
The New Student Admission System (SPMB) server for the 2026/2027 academic year in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), has experienced another error. This occurred on the final day of registration for the achievement and affirmation pathways at the primary school (SD) and lower secondary school (SMP) levels. “It was error, then normal, then error again. We were confused because it errored several times,” said Iwan, a parent of a prospective student, to detikBali on Wednesday (24/6/2026).
Head of the Mataram Education Department (Disdik), Yusuf, confirmed that the registration period would be extended to assist parents and schools in uploading data. “We are extending the duration. For example, the closure which was supposed to be earlier (2 p.m.), we are extending until 10 p.m.,” Yusuf said when confirmed on Wednesday (24/6/2026).
Yusuf explained that the technical issues arose due to very high access loads. To anticipate the surge in access, the Mataram City Government has coordinated with the vendor to ensure the system runs smoothly, especially as the registration for the domicile pathway is approaching. “As of now, the data upload process has reached 80%. We are extending the deadline for those who have not yet uploaded until 10 p.m.,” Yusuf stated.
Meanwhile, the Mataram Education Department has established a special command post (posko) outside the department’s office to monitor the SPMB process. The post is expected to ensure that public access to information remains open and transparent. “There is already a post, now I have placed the post outside so it is not closed off. We will follow up on the results of the meeting with the Assistant as acting head, whatever has been produced we will continue,” said Yusuf.
For information, the SPMB for the SMP level in Mataram is divided into four pathways: domicile at 50%, achievement at 25%, mutation at 5%, and affirmation at 20%. The achievement pathway is further divided into three categories: academic achievement based on report card grades at 12%, non-academic achievement at 8%, and religious achievement at 5%. The achievement and affirmation pathways were open from 22-24 June, with announcements on 25 June, and re-registration on 26 and 29 June. Meanwhile, the domicile and mutation pathways will take place from 29 June to 1 July 2026, with announcements on 2 July 2026 and re-registration from 6-8 July 2026.
