Series of Incidents Involving 'Green' Taxis That Have Angered the Public

A collision incident involving the Electric Rail Train (KRL) and the long-distance train KA Argo Bromo Anggrek at Bekasi Timur Station in West Java has captured public attention. The event, which occurred on Monday evening, 27 April 2026, is said to have been triggered by a green electric taxi that was first involved in an accident at the crossing.

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) DAOP 1 Jakarta’s Public Relations Manager, Franoto Wibowo, explained that the incident indeed began with a taxi colliding with the KRL at a level crossing.

“Yes, so the KRL was hit by a taxi at the JPL crossing near Bulak Kapal,” he stated, quoted on Monday, 27 April 2026.

As a result of the collision, the KRL was forced to stop on the track. Unfortunately, the Argo Bromo Anggrek train was approaching from behind and was subsequently affected by the situation at the crossing.

“What made the KRL stop. The KRL stopped, and behind it was the Argo Bromo train. That’s all I can say for now,” he added.

Suddenly Reversing and Crashing into a Chicken Restaurant

According to the TikTok account @infojakarta.co.id on Friday, 9 January, a green taxi was reported to have suddenly reversed and crashed into the glass wall of the Almaz chicken restaurant in the Karang Mulya area, Karang Tengah, Tangerang City. Based on the video post’s description, the electric taxi was initially leaving the restaurant’s parking lot, followed by a similar electric taxi. While entering Jalan Raden Saleh, the driver veered the taxi to the right.

While turning, the taxi was suddenly hit by a car coming from the Ciledug direction. As a result, the side body of the taxi was damaged. During the incident, the taxi driver got out of the vehicle and approached the car that had hit it. However, as the driver was about to return to the taxi, the vehicle suddenly moved in reverse and slid into the restaurant’s parking area.
