JAKARTA — The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Indonesia, Mohammad Boroujerdi, has revealed various grave violations committed by Israel in conjunction with the United States (US) in attacks against Iran since February 2026. This was stated by Boroujerdi during a meeting with Islamic figures in the Pondok Labu area of South Jakarta on Friday (3/4/2026).

According to Boroujerdi, the attack that occurred on 28 February not only violated international law but also undermined humanitarian values and applicable rules of war.

Boroujerdi noted that the attack took place while the Iranian people were observing the fast during the holy month of Ramadan.

“From the time of the first attack until now, they have committed various violations, some of which we can mention. For example, they attacked Iran while the Iranian people were performing their fast in the holy month of Ramadan,” he said.

He also highlighted the targeting of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as a serious violation. According to him, in modern warfare practices, it is very rare for a country’s highest leader to be directly targeted.

One of the most spotlighted points is also the attack on a girls’ primary school in Minab, southern Iran. In that incident, 168 female students under the age of 12 were reported to have died. This shows that the attack targets no longer distinguish between combatants and civilians.

Boroujerdi revealed that dozens of mosques as well as various educational institutions such as schools and universities have also been targeted in the US-Israel attacks. He assessed that such actions contradict the principle of protecting civilian objects in armed conflicts.
