Sergeant MRN Fires at Fellow TNI Member at Palembang Café Using an Improvised Pistol of the 'Korek' Type

The improvised firearm was found by officers at the home of a civilian with the initials DS in Kelurahan Srimulya, Sematang Borang District, Palembang, on Saturday, 16 May 2026, at around 20:15 WIB. DS is suspected of involvement for concealing the firearm evidence after the shooting that occurred at Panhead Café, Jalan Letjen H Alamsyah Ratu Prawiranegara, IB I District, Palembang. ‘The improvised pistol used in the shooting was found at DS’s home,’ Kapendam II/Sriwijaya told detikSumbangsel, on Sunday 17 May 2026. In addition to securing the improvised firearm, authorities have arrested the shooting suspect, namely Sertu MRN. ‘The suspect was secured less than 24 hours after the incident while at the Bhayangkara Palembang Hospital parking area,’ he said. The shooting incident occurred on Saturday (16/4/2026) at around 02:30 WIB. The incident began when Pratu BI and Sertu MRN were involved in a personal dispute that culminated in a fight. In a cornered position, MRN is suspected of producing an improvised firearm and firing shots that hit Pratu Ferischal.
