Serbaraja Toll Road Phase 2 Construction to Begin in the Second Half of 2026, Completion Expected in 2030
PT Bumi Serpong Damai Tbk (BSDE), through its subsidiary, PT Trans Bumi Serbaraja, is preparing to continue its strategic infrastructure expansion. The construction of the Serpong-Balaraja (Serbaraja) Toll Road Phase 2 is confirmed to begin in the second half of 2026.
Director of PT Bumi Serpong Damai Tbk, Hermawan Wijaya, stated that preparations for the commencement of the next phase of construction are ongoing. “Most likely, it will begin in the second semester,” said Hermawan in Jakarta, Wednesday (February 25th).
Currently, the public can enjoy access to the Serbaraja Toll Road, which has been operational up to the Legok area. The presence of this toll road has proven effective in reducing travel time from Serpong to residential areas in Tangerang Regency.
Hermawan affirmed that after Phase 2 begins, the company will continue working on Phase 3. “Next, we will also continue with Phase 2 and Phase 3 to Balaraja,” he added.
Given the considerable scale of the project, BSDE is targeting the completion of the entire Serbaraja Toll Road, connecting it fully to Balaraja, by 2030. The project is being carried out in stages to ensure construction quality and optimal land integration.
“Hopefully, it will be completed by 2030,” Hermawan said optimistically.
Technically, the toll road is divided into three main sections, connecting key points in the Greater Tangerang area:
The Serbaraja toll road is not just a local toll road. This section is projected to be the initial part of the Jakarta Outer Ring Road 3 (JORR-3) network. In the future, this toll road will be interconnected with the Jakarta-Serpong Toll Road, the Jakarta-Merak Toll Road, and various major toll roads on the island of Java.
This connectivity is expected to improve logistics efficiency, reduce congestion on arterial roads, and stimulate the growth of new economic centers along the toll road. (Ant/I-2)
