Serang Regent Highlights MSME Support Through Anyer–Panarukan 3R
Serang Regent Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah said the Anyer–Panarukan 3R programme—Road, Route, Roots—is one of the efforts to strengthen the MSME sector.
She said the Route concept was expected to stimulate economic activity along the Anyer–Panarukan corridor.
“We want to turn the Great Post Road into a driver of economic activity. We can develop MSMEs and culinary businesses, as well as tourism, including religious and historical tourism,” she said during a talk show following the launch of the Anyer–Panarukan 3R programme on Sunday (11 October).
Situbondo Regent Yusuf Rio Wahyu Prayogo agreed, saying the Anyer–Panarukan route carried significant responsibilities for many people.
As a national road, he said, it supported the livelihoods of many people who depended on trading. He therefore stressed the importance of supporting economic and business growth along the route.
“The Anyer–Panarukan road should not exist merely as a reminder of history; its future must also be safeguarded. The road has grown alongside MSMEs. Many traders make their living there, and economic and business activity has developed along it,” he said.
Rio said this was increasingly important as the Anyer–Panarukan national route now had to compete with the Trans-Java Toll Road.
Although many people would continue to use the route, he said, preparing for economic and business growth for communities along it was a shared responsibility.
“Even though there is now a toll road, I am sure many road users will still travel this way. People going to Bali, particularly, will pass through Situbondo on the Anyer–Panarukan road. So we need to prepare for economic and business growth along the route,” he said.
