Serang Regency has secured an Unqualified Audit Opinion (WTP) for its 2025 financial audit report from the Audit Board of Indonesia’s (BPK) Banten Provincial Office. This marks the 15th consecutive year the regency has received the WTP.

The announcement was made during the presentation of the 2025 Local Government Financial Report (LKPD) audit results at the BPK Banten office in Palima, Serang City, on Tuesday (26 May), attended by regents, mayors, and DPRD chairpersons from eight regencies and cities in Banten Province.

“This is an extraordinary achievement. It’s the 15th time Serang Regency has received an unqualified opinion. Thank you and appreciation to the BPK Banten Representative Office,” said Serang Regent Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah (Ratu Zakiyah).

Ratu Zakiyah stated that the WTP achievement resulted from the hard work of all regional agency heads within Serang Regency. She urged the administration to maintain this by further improving the regency’s financial governance.

“This achievement is thanks to the hard work of all OPD heads, including inspectors, the secretary-general, and everyone else. Without collaboration and effort, we wouldn’t have secured the WTP again,” she added.

During her address, Ratu Zakiyah emphasised compliance with regulations, warning that non-adherence would lead to findings by the BPK.

“I urge OPD heads to comply with regulations and follow procedures correctly. Deviating from rules will result in future findings, which we must then address,” she explained.

Serang Regency DPRD Chair Bahrul Ulum congratulated the local government on the unqualified opinion.

“This is the finest gift for Serang Regency as it marks one year of the regent and vice-regent’s term. The opinion confirms the local government is on track with its programmes,” he said.

Bahrul Ulum hopes Serang Regency will strengthen coordination to achieve higher scores. The WTP for the 2025 audit had an 83.57% compliance rate.

“Ideally, it should be more than 83.57%. Next year, we hope for zero notes requiring follow-up,” Bahrul Ulum added.

Meanwhile, BPK Banten Chief Firman Nurcahyadi stated that LKPD audits are a legal mandate conducted annually by the BPK to assess the fairness of financial reporting based on Government Accounting Standards, internal control effectiveness, compliance with laws, and adequacy of disclosures.

For the 2025 fiscal year, the BPK granted WTP to Serang Regency, Serang City, Tangerang Regency, Tangerang City, South Tangerang City, Cilegon City, and Lebak Regency.

“This achievement reflects local governments’ commitment to accountable and sustainable financial management. Additionally, the BPK issued a WTP with an Emphasis of Matter paragraph to Pandeglang Regency,” Firman concluded.
