Serang Regency Government, in Banten Province, continues to drive digital literacy education and strengthen social solidarity to ensure that every development movement, particularly in cyberspace, has a positive impact on the progress of the nation’s youth.

The Regent of Serang, Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah, in Serang on Wednesday, said that the nation’s challenges today have shifted from territorial sovereignty to information sovereignty and digital transformation.

“We must continue to strengthen social solidarity and enhance digital literacy. We must also ensure that our digital transformation is safe, in line with the message conveyed by the Ministry of Communications and Digital,” she said.

She explained that the central government places serious attention on protecting children in digital spaces through the enactment of Government Regulation No. 17 of 2025 concerning restrictions on gadget use for those aged 16 and below. This policy is important so that young people can access the internet in a healthy way and in accordance with their development stage.

At the regional level, the Serang Regency Government through the Department of Communication, Informatics, Cryptography, and Statistics (Diskominfosatik) provides full support through data protection and direct education to the community.

“To safeguard population and civil servant data, we have launched the Serang Regency Cyber Incident Response Team (TTIS) which has been accredited by the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN),” Zakiyah asserted.

In terms of education, the Serang Regency is vigorous in carrying out digital literacy socialisation through the Kominfo Go to School, Kominfo Go to Pesantren, and Kominfo Go to ASN programmes. The programmes are designed so that the community, especially learners, understand access limits and online ethics.
