Serang Police have intensified night patrols in areas prone to crime, street brawls, and motorcycle gang activity. Officers approached teenagers and young people gathered late at night and into the early hours.

The patrols were conducted by Serang Police on Tuesday night (25/8) through Wednesday morning (26/8). The enhanced routine activity (KRYD) was ordered by Serang Police Chief AKBP Andri Kurniawan.

Patrols were increased to prevent theft with aggravation, violent theft, and motorcycle theft (C3), motorcycle gang activity, student brawls, misuse of sharp weapons, and drug trafficking.

Head of Operations for Serang Police, AKP Hery Wiyono, said the patrols were carried out simultaneously by Serang Police personnel and sector police units, targeting locations deemed to have potential for public order disturbances.

“This patrol is an enhanced routine activity to provide a sense of security to the public while anticipating various public order disturbances, particularly C3, motorcycle gangs, brawls, and drug abuse,” said Hery Wiyono on Wednesday (26/8/2026).

Police visited locations such as minimarkets, shophouses, food stalls, and other places prone to criminal activity. Officers also visited banking facilities such as ATMs and BRILink services.

Personnel also visited locations commonly used as gathering spots for teenagers. Officers checked several youths as a precaution against possession of sharp weapons and drugs.

“We also targeted locations commonly used as hangouts for teenagers. If potential disturbances were found, personnel conducted checks and issued warnings so they would not engage in activities that could disrupt security,” he said.

During the activity, officers reminded teenagers to disperse and return to their respective homes. In addition, the patrols visited neighbourhood watch posts as a form of synergy with the community in maintaining local security.

“We urge the entire community to jointly maintain public order and security. If you find any potential security disturbances or criminal acts, immediately report them to police officers via the 110 call centre so they can be followed up quickly,” he said.
