Serang Police Deploy 64 Water Trucks to Combat Drought in Six Districts

Serang Police have sent 64 water tankers to assist residents in drought-affected areas. A total of 21 villages in six districts are the target locations for the water aid distribution.

The water aid dispatch was launched by Banten Police Chief Inspector General Hengki at Serang Police Headquarters, Banten, on Thursday (6/8/2026). The launch was attended by Banten Deputy Governor Dimyati Natakusumah and Serang Police Chief AKBP Andri Kurniawan.

A total of 502,000 litres of clean water was transported using 60 tanker trucks and four water cannon vehicles belonging to the Indonesian National Police.

Hengki said the distribution of clean water is a form of the police’s concern for communities experiencing water supply difficulties.

“The police are not only present to maintain public security and order, but also strive to provide solutions to community needs, one of which is through the distribution of clean water aid for residents affected by drought,” Hengki said.

Hengki explained that the public can also submit requests for clean water assistance through the 110 call centre service. The service can be accessed free of charge 24 hours a day to receive reports and requests for assistance from residents in need.

Serang Police Chief AKBP Andri Kurniawan explained that the 502,000 litres of clean water aid was distributed to 21 villages in the districts of Carenang, Binuang, Tanara, Tirtayasa, Pontang, and Petir.

The police chief expressed hope that the clean water aid would meet residents’ needs until water availability returns to normal. He also assured that Serang Police would continue to monitor areas experiencing clean water shortages during the dry season.

“Through this social service activity, Serang Police together with Banten Regional Police demonstrate their commitment to remaining present in the community, providing humanitarian services by helping to meet the basic needs of residents affected by drought,” he said.
