Serang City Government Records 90 Active Nutrition Service Units to Support Free Nutritious Meals Programme
Serang (ANTARA) - The Serang City Government (Pemkot), Banten, has recorded nearly 90 Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) operating actively to support the acceleration of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme in the region.
Assistant for Regional Affairs (Asda) II of Serang City, Yudi Suryadi, in Serang on Wednesday, stated that cumulatively, the number of SPPG in Serang City currently processing permit requirements is the highest in Banten province.
“Based on our calculations, to serve an ideal target of around 3,000 recipients per point, we need 100 SPPG. Currently, nearly 90 are confirmed operational, so there is still a shortfall of about 10 SPPG,” Yudi said.
Yudi explained that the authority for the SPPG establishment permitting process lies directly with the central government. Therefore, Pemkot Serang, through the MBG Task Force, focuses its role on synchronising recipient target data through coordination with relevant agencies and institutions.
Regarding information on the closure or evaluation of five previous SPPG, Yudi stated that the details and enforcement policies are entirely under the authority of the central government and regional coordinators.
“Evaluations are generally conducted regarding the fulfilment of supporting facilities and environmental requirements, including the availability of accommodation facilities for partner staff so they can be more comfortable and do not need to seek distant rentals from the location,” he said.
He emphasised that Pemkot Serang will continue to strive to promote coordination for the acceleration of forming the remaining target SPPG so that MBG logistics distribution can be promptly channelled evenly to the targeted community.
