Separated twins' health improving

SEMARANG: Fafa and Fifi, the Siamese twin successfully separated by doctors at the Dokter Kariadi Hospital Wednesday, were in a good condition yesterday although they were still under constant medical supervision.

Anityo Mochtar, the hospital director, said the organs of the twins have begun to function once again.

"They should no longer be in a critical condition three days after surgery," Anityo was quoted by Antara as saying.

The separation of the Siamese twins, born in February this year, was the fourth such operation conducted at the hospital.

The twins, whose full names are Aghnia Norma Hafisah and Aghnia Norma Nafisah, were born at the Harapan Anda hospital in Tegal, Central Java. (emb)
