Sentul-Karawang Golden Corridor: A Giant Potential Overlooked by Investors
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Indonesia’s strategy for providing toll road infrastructure faces major challenges related to investment attractiveness. Several National Strategic Projects (PSN) have experienced repeated tender failures due to low interest from investors or Toll Road Business Entities (BUJT), even though they are located in potentially economic corridors. The disparity between investment costs and projected financial profits is forcing the government to conduct a thorough evaluation of the cooperation schemes that have been running so far. This corridor is being prepared to be connected by the Sentul Selatan-Karawang Barat Toll Road, spanning 61.50 kilometres. Axiomatically, this region has high marketability. The corridor from Sentul to West Karawang is a strategic economic route that connects established residential centres with Indonesia’s largest manufacturing areas. Residential Areas 1. Sentul City: The largest integrated area in Sentul, encompassing various elite housing clusters, shopping centres, and educational facilities. 2. Summarecon Bogor: A new integrated city development located near Sentul access, offering modern housing with mountain views. 3. Podomoro River View: A residential area located in the Jagorawi-Sentul corridor with a riverfront living concept. Industrial Areas 1. Karawang International Industrial City (KIIC), one of the most established industrial estates filled with international manufacturing companies. 2. Olympic Industrial Estate (Olympic CBD), an industrial area integrated with a business centre in the supporting region. 3. Mitrakarawang Industrial Estate, located in the Karawang area directly bordering main logistics access.
