Sentencing Hearing for 5 Masterminds in Bank Manager Ilham Pradipta's Murder Adjourned

The panel of judges at the East Jakarta District Court (PN Jaktim) adjourned the sentencing hearing for five defendants in the murder case of bank branch manager Ilham Pradipta today. The prosecutor stated that the sentencing documents for the defendants were not yet ready. “How are you, Defendant? Are you well?” asked the presiding judge. “I have a toothache,” replied one of the defendants. “But you are able to stand trial? How about it, Prosecutor?” the judge inquired. However, when the judge directed the question to the prosecutor, the prosecutor declared they were not ready to read out the sentencing demands. “The files are not ready, Your Honour,” answered the public prosecutor. “Not ready? So they cannot be read out yet,” responded the presiding judge. The sentencing hearing was intended for defendants Candy alias Ken, Dwi Hartono, Antonius Aditia, Eka Wahyu, and Erasmus. The judge then adjourned the hearing until Monday, 22 June. “This means our hearing will continue on Monday, 22 June 2026. We have scheduled it for around 2 p.m. Western Indonesia Time,” the presiding judge stated. A total of 16 defendants are being tried in the murder case of Ilham Pradipta, comprising rogue Indonesian Army personnel and over a dozen civilian perpetrators. The trial at the Jakarta Military Court is prosecuting three military defendants: Sergeant Major Nasir, Corporal Feri Herianto, and Sergeant Major Frengky Yaru. The case is also being heard at the East Jakarta District Court for the civilian defendants, who are charged with premeditated murder against Ilham. The civilian defendants being tried at PN Jaktim include Dwi Hartono, Candy alias Ken, Antonius Aditia, Yohanes, Umri, Reviando, Andre, Emanuel, Johanes, David, Anthonio, and Aloysius. The murder was connected to an attempt by the defendants to steal money from dormant accounts, with the intended sum reaching Rp 455 billion. Prosecutors stated the defendants needed Ilham to facilitate the transfer of the money. Ilham was subsequently kidnapped and tortured to death.
