Sentenced to 9 Years in Prison and a Fine of IDR 1 Billion, Riva Siahaan Speaks Out
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The panel of judges has sentenced former Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Riva Siahaan, to 9 years in prison. In addition, a fine of IDR 1 billion has been imposed.
The verdict is related to the case of corruption in the management of crude oil and refinery products at PT Pertamina (Persero), its subsidiaries, and KKKS during the period of 2018-2023. In fact, the presiding judge, Fajar Kusuma Aji, read out the sentences for three defendants out of a total of 9 defendants who were sentenced.
The sentencing hearing took place at the Corruption Court (Tipikor) of the Central Jakarta District Court (PN Jakpus), today, Thursday (26/2/2026). The hearing began at around 4:00 PM and ended at 6:10 PM.
Fajar stated that the defendant, Riva Siahaan, was proven guilty of committing corruption together as stipulated in the primary indictment.
“Sentencing the defendant, Riva Siahaan, to 9 years in prison and a fine of IDR 1 billion, which must be paid within one month and can be extended for a maximum of 1 month from the date the decision becomes legally binding,” said Fajar during the sentencing hearing at the Corruption Court of PN Jakpus, Thursday (26/2/2026).
Riva Speaks Out
Sentenced to 9 years in prison and a fine of IDR 1 billion, Riva then spoke after the hearing. Riva said that there are still many facts in the trial that have not been considered by the panel of judges.
“And I am sure that there are still many facts from the trial that have not been considered. And God’s time is the best time, and it will show justice. I believe in that,” said Riva after the hearing, Thursday (26/2/2026).
Riva also affirmed that throughout his service at Pertamina, he has never regretted it.
“And I am sure and believe that God is good. And I am sure and believe, one thing I would like to add, that I have never regretted serving the company where I served,” he said.

Status: Proven guilty of committing corruption together (Primary Indictment).
Prison Sentence: 9 years.
Fine: IDR 1 billion.
Fine Provisions:
Must be paid within 1 month (can be extended for a maximum of 1 month) after the decision.

If assets are insufficient, it will be replaced with a prison sentence of 190 days.
