The Jakarta High Court (PT Jakarta) has increased the sentence of Jimmy Marsin, Principal Commissioner of PT Petro Energy and beneficial owner of PT Petro Energy, in a corruption case involving the provision of credit facilities by the Indonesian Export Financing Institution (LPEI). Marsin’s sentence has been increased from 8 to 10 years imprisonment.

The appeal decision against Jimmy was handed down at a public hearing at the Jakarta High Court (PT DKI Jakarta) in Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, 11 March 2026. The appeal was adjudicated by presiding judge Catur Iriantoro, with members Budi Susilo and Hotma Maya Marbun.

“To impose a prison sentence on Defendant III Jimmy Marsin of 10 years imprisonment,” the judge declared whilst reading out the appeal verdict.

The judge also sentenced Jimmy to a fine of Rp 250 million, alternative 90 days imprisonment, and ordered restitution of USD 32,691,551.88, alternative 8 years imprisonment.

The judge also delivered the appeal verdict for defendant Susy Mira Dewi Sugiarta, Director of PT Petro Energy. Susy’s sentence was increased from 6 to 7 years imprisonment and a fine of Rp 250 million, alternative 90 days imprisonment.

Previously, Jimmy faced trial for the verdict in the LPEI credit facility corruption case alongside two other defendants: Newin Nugroho, President Director of PT Petro Energy, and Susy Mira Dewi Sugiarta, Director of PT Petro Energy.

The case against the three defendants is part of a broader investigation in which the KPK alleges total state losses of Rp 11.7 trillion. The judge stated that Jimmy, Newin and Susy violated Article 2, paragraph 1, in conjunction with Article 18 of the Corruption Eradication Law, in conjunction with Article 55, paragraph 1, clause 1 of the Criminal Code, in conjunction with Article 64, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.

The following sentences were imposed by the judges at the Jakarta Corruption Court:

— Newin was sentenced to 4 years imprisonment and a fine of Rp 250 million, alternative 4 months imprisonment.

— Susy was sentenced to 6 years imprisonment and a fine of Rp 250 million, alternative 4 months imprisonment.

— Jimmy was sentenced to 8 years imprisonment, a fine of Rp 250 million, alternative 4 months imprisonment, and restitution of USD 32,691,551.88, alternative 4 years imprisonment.
