Dubai Police Commander Dhahi Khalfan Tamim has called on Arab Gulf states to strengthen cooperation with Israel. This controversial statement was made through a series of posts on his X account, amid the escalation of regional war involving Iran.

Khalfan implicitly praised his country’s alliance with Israel and sharply criticised Arab states outside the Gulf peninsula. He assessed that regional stability is better ensured through strategic partnerships with the West and Israel.

“To the Arab Gulf public, strengthen cooperation with Israel. My advice, other countries in this region are no good,” wrote Khalfan.

The statement comes amid a war situation that broke out since 28 February, following the US and Israeli military campaign against Iran. This conflict has triggered retaliatory actions from Tehran, which reportedly also targeted UAE territory and several other Gulf states.

According to Khalfan, this military confrontation provides real proof of who the true friends of the Gulf monarchies are. He openly referred to Western countries as friends and doubted the solidarity of other Arab states.

“This war has proven that Western countries are our friends, and those we call ‘brothers’ are actually separate from us—except for fellow monarchies that are harmonious and sympathetic to us,” he added.

Furthermore, this senior security official praised the US and Israeli military actions targeting Iran. He claimed that the operations aim to destroy military power built to support Persian dominance in the Middle East region. (Middle East Monitor/B-3)
