Senior Republika Journalist Dies as Mourners Flood Cemetery

The body of a Republika senior journalist, Joko Sadewo, died on Wednesday, 20 May 2026, at about 19:11 Western Indonesia Time. His funeral took place at Parung Bingung Public Cemetery in the Limo district of Depok on Thursday morning, 21 May 2026, with a steady stream of mourners from colleagues, old friends, and local residents paying their respects.

From 08:00 WIB, mourners arrived at the cemetery area as the sun broke through the sky above Parung Bingung. The area was filled with a somber mood.

Among those paying respects were fellow journalists, longtime friends, and locals.
