Senior High School Academic Ability Test Scheduled for 26 October to 8 November, Process Details Revealed
The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) confirmed the Academic Ability Test (TKA) for senior high school students will take place from 26 October to 8 November. Rahmawati, Head of the Education Assessment Centre (Pusmendik) at Kemendikdasmen, stated the schedule has been moved forward by one week compared to last year. “Registration will commence in August, providing over a month for applicants,” she said during a media briefing at the Kemendikdasmen complex in Central Jakarta on Tuesday. She explained the adjustment was made to accommodate feedback from last year’s TKA, where stakeholders requested limiting tests to one subject per day to maximise results, given the TKA certificate (SHTKA) is used for the talent-based admission system (SPMB). Consequently, this year’s TKA will be conducted over four days per wave, up from two days previously. “There was a request to avoid testing three subjects in one day, so we have accommodated this by extending the duration from two to four days per student,” Rahmawati added. Registration for the senior high school TKA will run from 18 August to 27 September. The first wave will take place from 26 to 29 October, the second from 2 to 5 November, and special waves from 31 October to 1 November and 7 to 8 November. The full schedule includes simulation exercises from 21 to 27 September, dry runs from 5 to 18 October, make-up tests from 16 to 29 November, result processing from 8 November to 22 December, and results announcement on 23 December.
