The Ministry of Public Works announced the reopening via its official account on X on Thursday evening. A video accompanying the post showed several pedestrians already using the newly reopened bridge. “It can be used now. It is open. All access routes are available,” a voice in the video stated. The ministry noted the reopening occurred after coordination with the Jakarta Provincial Government. “After coordinating with the Jakarta Provincial Government, the Senen footbridge was opened and put into use this evening,” the ministry wrote. The condition of the Senen footbridge had previously drawn public attention due to significant damage. Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung previously stated that the repair work on the overpass was being undertaken by the Ministry of Public Works under the instruction of President Prabowo Subianto. “The Public Works Ministry will commence work on the shelters concerning the lifts and footbridges, both at Senen and at Polda Metro Jaya. The target for completion is December,” Pramono said during the inauguration of the Jaga Jakarta Shelter in Senen, Central Jakarta. He estimated the cost of the footbridge and lift works at approximately Rp 19 to 20 billion. Meanwhile, the revitalisation of the Transjakarta bus shelters remains the responsibility of the Jakarta Provincial Government along with PT Transjakarta.
