JAKARTA (JP): Sempati Air, one of Indonesia's six scheduled air carriers, set several new schedules yesterday, which are targeted to make travel more convenient for passengers.
The carrier said that a number of services from Jakarta have been increased, including those to Denpasar in Bali, from 12 times per week to 14 times; to Yogyakarta, from 18 times per week to 21 times; to Surabaya in East Java, from 56 times per week to 69 times; to Bandung in West Java, from 12 times per week to 21 times; and to Perth in Australia, from three times per week to four times.
Other services, whose frequencies were increased, include Palangkaraya-Surabaya, from seven times per week to 14 times, Denpasar-Surabaya, from 15 times per week to 21 times; and Mataram-Denpasar, from 14 times per week to 26 times.
In addition to the new schedules, Sempati, which transported 3.2 million passengers in 1994, also terminated a number of routes, including Ambon-Ujungpandang, Denpasar-Yogyakarta, Kuala Lumpur-Padang, Pekanbaru-Tanjung Pinang, Solo-Surabaya, Jayapura- Ujungpandang, Denpasar-Solo, Padang-Pekanbaru and Palu- Ujungpandang.
