Seminar to discuss coal

JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia and the Netherlands are to jointly host a seminar on clean coal technology for electricity supply on May 14 and 15 to explore the possibility of cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector.

The Indonesian-Netherlands Association (INA), the two countries' business association, announced yesterday that the two-day seminar will be opened by Minister of Mines and Energy I.B. Sudjana and Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs G.J. Wijers.

During the seminar, the two countries' experts will have the opportunity to exchange views on the technology and to identify avenues of cooperation that might be pursued.

According to Yogo Pratomo of the Ministry of Mines and Energy, Zuhal, the director general of electricity and energy development at the ministry, and C.W.M. Dessens, the director general of energy at the Dutch ministry of economy will also sign an agreement on technology cooperation between the two countries. (13)
