Seminar to be held on 'New Indonesia'

JAKARTA (JP): The association of the Surabaya-based Airlangga University Alumni will hold next Tuesday a seminar on establishing the foundations for the "New Indonesia".

"The seminar will focus on measures to establish a New Indonesia," chairwoman of the seminar organizing committee Sri S. Tardjo said in a written statement released on Friday.

"Ever since the reform movement started, everyone has held different perspectives and understandings on the subject.

"The one-day seminar will pay special attention to the federalism issue and measures to fight corruption," the statement said.

The seminar, which will be held in conjunction with the university's 40th anniversary, will be held at the Exim Club on Jl. Mataram I in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.

Guest speakers slated to address the seminar include legal experts J.E. Sahetapy and Dimyati Hartono, State Minister for the Empowerment of Women Khofifah Indar Parawansa, and former attorney general Sudjono C. Atmonegoro. (05)
