Seminar on traffic jams

I read in the newspapers that the Chamber of Commerce and
Industry of Jakarta would hold a one-day seminar on traffic jams
and their impact on trade in the year 2000, if conditions do not
improve.

Actually the key to the solution of the traffic problem is to
make all facilities function properly. For example, the pavement
must be clear of sidewalk vendors; no vehicles should be allowed
to park on the road sides, etc. Being denied of the use of the
pavement, pedestrians have no other choice but to take to the
street, which in turn upsets the flow of traffic.
