Seminar on Malayan culture

MATARAM, West Nusa Tenggara: A seminar on Malay language and
culture will be held here from July 21 to July 23 at the
University of Mataram, Antara reported yesterday.

At least 241 foreign and local participants have confirmed
their attendance at the seminar, organizing committee secretary
Mahsun said here Thursday.

He said that about 12 papers would be presented by foreign
experts on Malay culture and language and by 50 local scholars.

He said two experts on Austronesia, Bernd Nothofer of the
University of Frankfurt and James T. Collins of University
Kebangsaan Malaysia, would speak at the seminar.
