Seminar on agri-business planned
JAKARTA (JP): A seminar and exhibition on agriculture and agribusiness advanced technology, with a special focus on potatoes and poultry, will be held on June 5 to June 9 to promote Indonesian-Dutch economic cooperation.
The Indonesia-Netherlands Association announced yesterday that a business delegation, lead by a former Dutch minister of agriculture, Piet Bukman, will arrive in Jakarta soon, to participate in the seminar and exhibition, to be called Holland Agro 1995.
The delegation members are representatives of companies specializing in the production of animal feed, veterinary medicines and feed additives, slaughtering equipment, cooling and air-treatment equipment and storage facilities, as well as providing finance and consulting services, it said.
It said the seminar, organized by the association, will present, on June 5, Indonesian and Dutch speakers to elaborate various aspects of potato and poultry production and processing. State Minister of Food Ibrahim Hasan will deliver his keynote speech at the meeting.
The seminar will be followed by business meetings from June 7 to June 9, to explore the possibilities of economic cooperation between Indonesian and Dutch companies.
The exhibition will be opened by Minister of Agriculture Sjarifudin Baharsjah in a ceremony attended by Netherlands Ambassador Paul R. Brouwer. It will be participated in by 33 Dutch companies and attended by executives of about 700 Indonesian companies. (32)
